Dishwasher not filling

Try these checks in order

Exact controls and access points differ by model. Stop when a step does not match your appliance or manual.

   Open the water shutoff

   Find the dishwasher water valve under the sink and confirm it is fully open. Do not force a corroded valve.

   What you want: The handle is open and no leak is visible.

   Close the door firmly

   Remove utensils or racks that block the door and close it until the latch engages.

   What you want: The door sits flush and latches without force.
3. 3

   Cancel Delay Start

   Check the display for a delay time or Control Lock. Use the model manual to cancel it.

   What you want: No delay or lock indicator remains.

   Clear the visible float area

   Some models have a small float in the tub. Remove loose debris around it without unscrewing or forcing it.

   What you want: The float moves freely if the manual identifies it as owner-accessible.
5. 5

   Check household water

   Run the kitchen faucet. Very low water pressure or plumbing work can affect dishwasher filling.

   What you want: Cold and hot water flow normally at the sink.
